2016 – Bethesda Multicultural Committee’s Black History Month

Event Focus: “The Wounded Soldiers” held at Bethesda National Naval Medical Center, now known as Walter Reed National Military Medical Center. Special Guest: Danny Strong, Gold Medal Special Olympics & 1st place PNBBA, Professional Natural Body Builder Association.

2017 – 1st Unity Day at LaPlata High School, LaPlata, MD

Event Focus: Alumni and current students hosted a celebration for a former history teacher and fundraiser for her charity of choice Lifestyles, Inc. (homelessness) of Charles County, MD. Special Guests: Dr. Herman Melvin Witten Jr. EVO House of Nobel; Maureen Bunyan Veteran WJLA News Anchor and Founder of the NABJ and IWMF; Pastor Cynthia Warren Baker Shabach Evangelistic Ministries; and Sponsorship by Walmart donation of $10,000 in merchandise.

2018 – Black History Great Trailblazers at the University of the District of Columbia, Washington, DC

Event Focus: DC & MD school students celebrate former and present-day trailblazers. Ms. Maureen Bunyan is the recipient of the 1st Advocates 4 History Award. Special Guests: Maureen Bunyan (retired trailblazer news anchor); Denise Rolark Barnes (Journalist, CEO of Washington Informer newspaper); Don Lowery (Senior Vice President, Community Engagement, for Neilson, The Global Media Company); Mr. Ameyon Hawkins (DC Native, from Nielson, The Global Media Company); Garrett Dyer (State of Virginia Fire Marshal)

2019 – Social Economic Program (Financial Literacy) “Pushed Out” at the Shaw community in Washington, DC (Washington Post) 

Event Focus: Pairing up with the writer regarding The Gentrification of my neighborhood. Special Guest: Mrs. Denee L. Brown (journalist of the Washington Post newspaper); Residents of the 1800 Block of 13th Street NW.

2020 – Unity Day Advocates 4 History, Inc – giving back to the community

Event Focus: PPE Glove Drive for The University of Maryland Charles Regional Medical Center, La Plata, MD. Donated 1,000 boxes of gloves to hospital staff.
